Breakfast Deli Mellau
Riebel, Bregenzerwald cheese, homemade jam — and the bus leaves right outside your door. Mornings don't get much better than that.
Food, Insider tips
)
Sometimes it's worth getting up a little early for breakfast. And sometimes the bus takes you straight there. Both are true of Café Deli at Hotel Bären in Mellau — which makes this tip an especially easy one.
Every day from 8 to 11 am, you'll find breakfast the way it should be in the Bregenzerwald: honest, regional, with ingredients whose origin you actually know. Milk, cheese, yogurt and eggs from Vorarlberg. Bread from the village bakery. Homemade jams, Bregenzerwald honey, fresh spreads. And daily-changing warm dishes — Vorarlberg Riebel, millet, porridge — for anyone who needs more than just a coffee in the morning.
The Deli also thinks of those who prefer to keep it light: the whole menu is vegetarian, with vegan or gluten-free options on request. No frills, no lengthy menus — just good food, made well.
And if you're heading straight into the mountains afterward, onto the slopes, into the forest, you're in luck: the ski and hiking bus stops right outside. Breakfast, get up, hop on. The day can begin.
