Sometimes it doesn’t have to be the big ski resort. The Niedere is our local mountain, and the cable car takes you straight from Bezau up to Baumgarten at 1,650 metres. Up there, a winter landscape is waiting with room for whatever the day brings.
Tobogganing. The natural toboggan run from Baumgarten down to Sonderdach is over 3 kilometres long with a descent of 440 metres. Well groomed, for children, adults and anyone who likes it fast, but just as much for those who prefer a leisurely glide down to the valley. Sledges can be rented at the valley station and in the panorama restaurant, while stocks last.
Skiing. The Niedere is a family ski area. Perfectly groomed slopes, two drag lifts, easy-to-navigate terrain. Skiing here is relaxed, without the crowds and without the rush. Ideal for beginners, families with children, or anyone looking for a quiet day on the slopes.
Winter walking and snowshoeing. Groomed paths lead through the snow-covered alpine pastures and up to the Niedere Höhe. The panorama circular trail is a leisurely stroll with views, while the path from Sonderdach up to Baumgarten is a little more demanding. Clear air, sun on your face, and snow crunching underfoot.
And more. The Baumgarten top station is the starting point for ski tours in the Niedere-Winterstaude area. If you’re heading out, always check the current avalanche report beforehand. And in the panorama restaurant right by the top station, you’ll find regional specialities with a view of the mountains.
And when the snow melts? The same cable car keeps running. In summer, it takes you up for hiking and paragliding, with a panorama stretching all the way to Lake Constance. That’s the Niedere too.
